The Fossil Record is the story of Earth’s epic that unfolded over billions of years. It could be likened to a movie of the history of life across all geological time. However, only a small fraction of the film’s frames was preserved. Mioplosus is an extinct genus of percid fish that lived from the early to middle Eocene. Mioplosus have pointed teeth and are believed to have been voracious predators: individuals have been found with fish lodged in its throat.
