Turtle Fossil Mural

With a length of 36”, this Baenidae arenosa specimen is one of the largest ever found. A rare animal that lived on both land and in the water, this compelling find represents an extinct genus of turtle that was first identified by the Hayden Geological Survey in 1870 and is one of only a few complete specimens discovered since. Fantastically preserved and presented in a rare, dark limestone matrix.
